Christmas Wedding Decorations

The Christmas season is one of the most special and beautiful times of the year, everyone waits until that day to meet with their loved ones, so when you plan a wedding on those days you must keep the Christmas essence. But I know you want to personify your wedding and not just Christmas, so you can add Christmas spirit without taking away from your wedding style. I will give you some tips to decorate the venue or any space with both elements together. To be honest, celebrating your wedding on Christmas is going to be a very emotional moment in your life, happiness and love will take over the atmosphere and you and your fiancé will feel very grateful and blessed.

Some ideas that can help you see how you can decorate your wedding in the Christmas season👰⛄️❄🎄

Colors for use

Gold, Wine red, White, Green, Wood are perfect colors for a wedding and also combine perfectly with the Christmas season, it is not necessary to add specific Christmas decorations (if you do not want to) to maintain the essence. You can play with these colors and their shades to decorate your venue.

Decoration

There are many ways to decorate a Christmas wedding, from centerpieces to venue lighting. After you have chosen the colors you would like for your wedding, you can start to think about how you envision your wedding in those colors and whether it makes you feel at ease and comfortable.

Some ideas: You can use white and red wine flowers, they will give you a touch of Christmas essence, use baskets as part of your decoration, golden chairs, golden runners for the tables, one of the most important things to invest your budget is to add good lighting to your venue. You can use yellow light to give a romantic atmosphere but also Christmas essence.

Invitations

As colors of your wedding, your invitations can be white and golden, they will look so elegant and modern. Remember that white symbolizes snow to add a seasonal spirit in every detail of your wedding but maintaining your wedding style.

Some others matches:

    • Red wine and gold
    • Green and gold
    • Black and gold
    • Brown and red wine

Bridesmaids

Those girls will love to wear beautiful red wine dresses, and it’s a perfect color because it is such a sensual and romantic color, also is going to match the wedding style and plus with the Christmas spirit. Another color can be Hunter Emerald Green which is perfect for the season and looks more serious and classic.

Groomsmens

Those guys should match with the bridesmaids so they can wear a black suit with green or red wine ties or loops.

Food for wedding: The cookie cannot be missing at your wedding, it is one of the desserts that people love at Christmas time.  But let’s talk about the main meal as a dinner course. This meal can be stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes, other types of ham or roast beef.  This point can vary according to each couple, if the couples decide to order a traditional Christmas dinner that way they can be sure that everyone will enjoy it (in case there are not 2 dinner options for the guest), but in reality if you are serving a traditional meal that most people like can save you some money because you don’t have to worry about many food options for your guests.

Music: Obviously, you will have a DJ who is going to mix various music for your wedding, but you should talk to the DJ and make sure you add some Christmas music, it doesn’t have to be many, but the main representative of Christmas like “I wish you a Merry Christmas” could be one of them.  This will make your guests feel at home, as if they are with their family.

What to see when you are planning a Christmas Wedding

Weather

You must have contingency plans in case there is a storm or any environmental problem that can ruin your day, so you must talk to your venue and photographer and make sure you have an indoor space where you can take such beautiful photos and keep your guests safe and warm.

Holidays

Christmas time, such as December 24 to 25 and January 1, can be very difficult for your guests to attend your wedding, because they have another family or already made plans, so you must send the invitations with anticipation in that way that people can save the day for you or do the wedding near those days, a week before or after, but still have the Christmas essence because Christmas time is throughout the month of December.

Trips

The plane tickets increase at Christmas, it is crazy to see how much a ticket can cost in those days, so if you plan to buy a ticket for someone, you must get it at least 3 months before the day, that way you will save money. It is also important that you speak with your guests and give them some tips on how to buy their tickets 2-3 months before, they will be very grateful to you.

Expenses and Cost Season

It is difficult to say this, but in December it will be very expensive than normal, it must be prepared to see venues, suppliers, photographers and even the officiants increase their prices this season, it is normal because it is a special time of the year and it is incredible to have a wedding this season because the love and union of families means, but unfortunately it will have a high cost to pay.

Location

As I always said, the location should be the easiest for you and your guests, this is one of the most difficult decisions you should do after got engaged, it seems quite simple to say that it will do your wedding where you live right now, but what happens if most of your family lives in different cities or states, you do not have to do your wedding where they are, but it will be very useful to celebrate your wedding in a place where most people can go, not to mention that it is Christmas.

Christmas Wedding Venues

The place is one of the first steps when you are planning your wedding, choosing the place is more than a space, it is more than how it looks or how big it is. It is about choosing a place where you and your partner can feel a connection and feel that place as your home to be able to receive all the guests that you are waiting for.

On the other hand, speaking of logistics, you must have an indoor place where you can be sure that any storm or cooler weather will ruin your day. I know you want those photos in the snow, but my strong recommendation is to always have 2 plans in case one of them doesn’t work out. You can talk to your photographer and take photos outside with your partner and then go inside to enjoy a warm place with your family and friends.

Anyway, most places have both indoor and outdoor spaces, they should have really good suggestions for you too, just make sure you ask the right questions and ahead of time that way nothing can go by without you being able to see it.
